Steps For Civil, Constructions and Environmental Engineering

SCCEE is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research, reviews, and technical case studies in civil, construction, and environmental engineering. It is owned and published by Scientific Steps International Publishing Services L.L.C. (Scientific Steps Group), United Arab Emirates.

• Peer review: double-anonymous, with at least two independent reviewers (Peer Review Policy).
• Open access: all articles are free to read on publication, under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Authors keep copyright.
• Discoverability: article DOIs are registered with Crossref, and the journal has a record in OpenAlex. This is not indexing in a curated database.
• Frequency: four issues a year (January–March, April–June, July–September, October–December). Articles are published online as soon as they are ready.

SCCEE publishes research that advances the analysis, design, construction, and management of civil infrastructure and the built environment, and that reduces its environmental impact. The journal welcomes experimental, numerical, and field studies whose results matter to both researchers and practising engineers. It particularly welcomes work on durable and sustainable materials, seismic and structural safety, geotechnics, water resources, transportation, and construction management. Studies that only repeat well-established methods or code calculations, without a new contribution, are outside the scope.

Reference style

SCCEE uses APA 7th edition (author–date). List references alphabetically by first author. Give a DOI wherever one exists. Examples:

Reporting expectations for engineering studies

• Name the design codes and test standards used, with their year (for example ACI 318-19, Eurocode 2, or ASTM C39).
• Give material properties with their measured variability (mean, standard deviation, number of specimens).
• For numerical models, give the software and version, element types, mesh sensitivity, boundary conditions, and validation against test or benchmark data.
• Field and case studies describe the location, the data sources, and any permissions obtained.

Corresponding author

Each manuscript has one corresponding author, who is strongly encouraged to provide an ORCID iD.

Special issues: special issues follow the same peer review as regular submissions. The Editor-in-Chief approves each special issue and makes the final decision on every article in it. Guest editors do not handle their own submissions.

The APC for SCCEE is USD 320 per accepted article, plus VAT where applicable. There are no submission fees, and rejected manuscripts are never charged. Waivers and discounts are available. See Article Processing Charges.
